Hi there and welcome to the Dizzy Lizzy, your DC Metro area destination for delicious desserts with spirit! The idea came to us one night several years ago as we ate a tiramisu cake and drank a boozy, mudslide milkshake (it was an indulgent night!). Why wasn’t there a place dedicated to boozy desserts, we asked, and then came up with the Dizzy Lizzy – a friendly, dessert crafting lizard, enjoying life, and then some.
Who came up with the idea? These two lizardos, one on each end. The one in the middle showed up later 🙂
We really enjoy cooking, baking, desserts and an occasional drink. As our idea developed, our neighbors were recruited to try way too many desserts. We heard no complaints, just great spirited feedback and kudos, so off we went creating more delicious boozy desserts!
We are big into clean living and as such we make desserts with wholesome ingredients all of us can pronounce and would subsequently feed ourselves and our child … well, except for the booze. Unbleached whole grain flours, unrefined cane sugars, fresh fruits, finest Belgian chocolates … you know … the good stuff! Afterall, how much propylene glycol, yellow #5 and sodium benzoate can one consume?!!
